While this project (an endeavor in Digital Humanities and film studies) began as a means of analysis of color in Studio Ghibli films, it has developed into a more visual than analytic experience. Instead, I have included a multitude of screencaps from 6 Studio Ghibli films, hoping to portray the themes and characters through the films' vibrant colors.

This site, created by James Marien for the Digital Humanities Capstone Course at UW-Stout (see PDF), is a visual composition and summary of several works by animator Hayao Miyazaki. Below are "Barcodes", created through the compilation of screenshots from the respective films. Each film has its own page with summaries, exposition on the barcodes and other content.
